National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) has formally recognized Seminole County's Purchasing and Contracts Division having attained its re-certification of the "Outstanding Agency Accreditation Award".  This accreditation program is designed to identify those agencies that lead the nation's public procurement profession by meeting and exceeding minimum standards which include best practices, e-procurement initiatives, personnel development and certification, procurement policies and procedures, customer service, procurement strategies, organizational support and auditing.  These bodies of standards along with substantial documentation and demonstration of Best Practices are submitted to NIGP and only those agencies that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high score are accredited.  NIGP represents over 2,000 agencies of which accreditation have been awarded to only 104 of these agencies.  This re-accreditation will have a positive impact on Seminole County's credibility, recognition and improved bond rating
