Free Class to Help You Learn How to Protect Your Identity

Sanford, Fla., Sept. 30, 2009 – Identity theft is on the rise during tough economic times. In order to help you keep your green, protect your identity and maintain your sanity, the Seminole County Extension Service is offering a free class called “Protecting Your Identity-ID Theft and Burglary.” The class will take place at the Extension Auditorium, located at 250 W. County Home Rd. in Sanford, on Wednesday, October 14 from 6-8 p.m. and will repeat on Friday, October 16 from 8-10 a.m.

Margaret Levins, the Crime Prevention Coordinator with the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, will serve as guest speaker. Ms. Levins' areas of expertise include commercial and residential security; internet safety; retail theft prevention; robbery prevention; current crime trends and crime prevention as it relates to education regarding frauds, scams and or identity theft.
