Seminole County Manager

Sanford, FL. October 15 - The Board of Seminole County Commissioners appointed Joe Forte as Acting County Manager during their regularly scheduled Board meeting October 13, 2009.
Mr. Forte has 19 years of local government experience, the last two years as the Deputy County Manager for Seminole County. During his tenure he has also served as the Interim Community Services Director and the Environmental Services Director. Prior to joining the Seminole County team he maintained roles including Fire Chief, Assistant City Manager and City Manager at the City of Holly Hill, FL. He holds a B.A. in Organizational Management from Warner Southern College and is a member of the Florida City & County Managers Association and the International City Managers Association.
Cindy Coto's contract was terminated Tuesday. Ms. Coto served as the County Manager for the last 3 1/2 years and in other capacities at Seminole County for 23 years. The Board indicated they are seeking a new direction and requested the County Attorney and Mr. Forte present plan options for filling the position at the next scheduled Board meeting, which is October 27. Mr. Forte will remain Acting County Manager until the recruitment process is complete. |
