Registration is necessary to obtain a valid library card.
Eligibility requirement:

Any person residing permanently or owning property in Seminole County,
OR |

| b) |
Any person enrolled in a Seminole County Public School, OR |
| |

| c) |
Any person employed by the Seminole County government, OR |
| |
|
| d) |
An Orange County Resident or Lake County
Resident may go to any branch library and, with a valid library card from
their respective county, register for a library card in Seminole County.
Borrowers are registered for a one (1) year period. The only services to be
provided to Orange County Residents and Lake County Residents are the
lending of materials over the counter at the branch libraries. No lending
services by computer or mail will be offered. This Interlocal Agreement for
Reciprocal Borrowing between Orange County Library System and Seminole
County Library System was adopted on September 22, 1998 by the Board of
County Commissioners. The Interlocal Agreement for Reciprocal Borrowing
between Lake County Library System and Seminole County Library System was
adopted on March 13, 2002. |

Fee cards will be issued for $50.00 per family for nonresidents as
approved by the Board of County Commissioners on February 24, 2009 (Resolution
2009-R-34). |

Library cards may be issued to corporate entities located in Seminole
County. Such cards must be personally guaranteed by the owner of the
entity. |
Adults (18 years or over) must present identification with name and proof of Seminole County residency at time of application.
Parents of juveniles (17 years or younger) are required to present identification with name and proof of Seminole County residency and sign the library card application for the juvenile.
The Seminole County Public Library System’s registration records are considered confidential information pursuant to Florida Statute 257.261. A library cardholder can request that a named person or persons be granted access to the cardholder’s confidential library record information. This request is made by filling out the library’s “Permission to Use Library Card” form. The named person or persons will be authorized to check out library materials, pick up holds, and check the status of items on the record.
Types of identification acceptable are:
- Florida driver license
- Seminole County voter ID card
- Telephone or utility bill
- Florida vehicle registration
- Bank checkbook
- Business mail
- Florida identification card
- School ID
