June 14, 2022
The Seminole County Board of County Commissioners accepted the Rosenwald Redevelopment Study and directed staff to prepare a scope of work based on the concept plan recommended by county staff and Renaissance Planning. The concept plan includes the preservation of three existing buildings, construction of a new community center and affordable housing at the former Rosenwald School property.
Summer 2022
The scope of work is anticipated to be complete, upon which, the project will be available for bid.
Fall 2022
A private partner and developer should be selected and a timeline for next steps will follow. This is a long-range project with numerous steps to bring it to completion, and this is just the exciting first step! Throughout the process, the county will also be working to identify funding options.
March 2023 Phase II P3 Property Redevelopment
A Request for Qualifications has been issued to identify qualified partners who are interested in the Phase II Public-Private Partnership Redevelopment project. The responses will be received and reviewed by mid-March. The Request for Proposals will be developed and issued based on feedback from County leadership and the Board of County Commissioners.
March 6, 2023
Asbestos Abatement begins on March 6, 2023 and will take about 3 weeks to complete. Demolition will start after abatement and take 2 weeks to complete. Then, the property will be graded, and sod replaced by the demolition contractor. Updated Survey and Geotechnical reports will be prepared after demolition.
