If you observe or witness a potential case of elections fraud, the Seminole County Board of County Commissioners encourages you to submit a complaint to the Florida Department of State, Division of Elections. The Voter Fraud Hotline is 1-877-868-3737.

Under Florida Statute 97.012, the Secretary of the State is the chief election officer of the state. It is the responsibility of this office to conduct preliminary investigations into any irregularities or fraud involving voter registration, voting, candidate petition, or issue petition activities and report his or her findings to the statewide prosecutor or the state attorney for the judicial circuit in which the alleged violation occurred for prosecution, if warranted.

The five-member Board of County Commissioners is the legislative and governing body of Seminole County, Florida. Seminole County is a separate governmental entity from the County’s five Constitutional Offices, which include the Clerk of Court, Property Appraiser, Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections, and Tax Collector. Pursuant to the Florida Constitution and Statutes, Seminole County does not have any authority or oversight over the operations of the Constitutional Offices, which each function independently from one another and from Seminole County Government.


SGTV to Broadcast Canvassing Board Meetings

Seminole County Government Television (SGTV), the County’s official government television channel, will provide live coverage of Seminole County Canvassing Board meetings leading up to the August 20 primary election.

  • Thursday, August 22, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., for canvassing of provisional ballots, official results and the manual audit criteria

“This will allow residents to observe the critical work done by the Board to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our local elections,” said Seminole County Chairman Jay Zembower, who is also a member of the Canvassing Board.

The Seminole County Canvassing Board is responsible for overseeing various aspects of the election process, including the review of vote-by-mail ballots, provisional ballots, and the certification of election results. By broadcasting these meetings live, SGTV aims to give residents a clearer understanding of the processes that uphold the integrity of Seminole County elections.
