Seminole County responds to the impact of Hurricane Milton. Learn More
Seminole County Department of Public Works has initiated the implementation of the County’s Stormwater Master Plan, which was originally released in 2018 as a stormwater needs assessment for the major basins in the County. The Howell Creek watershed, previously studied in 2007 and 2011, will have an update performed to its Watershed Management Plan. The approximately 54 square mile watershed lies within both Orange and Seminole counties where about 31 square miles is within Seminole County and is generally bounded by the Seminole County border to the south, Alafaya Trail to the east, Lake Jesup to the north, and Interstate 4 (I-4) to the west. The entire watershed resides within the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD). The watershed largely encompasses unincorporated Seminole County, as well as portions of the cities of Casselberry, Oviedo, Winter Springs, and Altamonte Springs.
